" As someone who typically prefers to solve everything by herself, I was hesitant to try coaching initially. I am so glad that Tee changed my mind; working with him has transformed not only my working habits, but shifted my relationship to productivity itself. He is extraordinarily insightful and easy to talk to, and I highly recommend him to anyone who is struggling with their work and motivation. "

" Tee Barnett Coaching has been really helpful for me across a range of areas, from the practical to the theoretical. We've explored areas from the meaning of intelligence, to the role of a CEO, to building operational systems, to impostor syndrome. I leave each session with a whole lot of new insights, and an option to innovate and improve in my professional life. Tee creates an environment that is approachable, curious, and completely non-judgmental, and balances the roles of supporting, suggesting, and listening exceptionally well. "

" Tee is a kind and thoughtful coach. He was careful in asking questions that would help both of us to understand how I perceive situations and how misperceptions are limiting my ability to do good work and have meaningful relationships. He was generous enough to go into some difficult issues and did so with care and compassion. The coaching has helped me to identify mental and behavioural patterns that are holding me back, and provided me with some strategies to correct these."

" My sessions with Tee have helped me to unpack professional and personal blocks that felt too difficult to sift through on my own. Tee asks thoughtful and clear questions that help me sort through facts and stories and get to the core of what I really want. Together, we have been able to develop language and framing that helps me to gain a deeper understanding of my emotional and rational reactions, and then develop personalised strategies to enhance my performance in the future.
I can feel myself gaining confidence and resilience in handling potential set-backs, learning more about myself and improving my ability to communicate my needs with others."

" Tee has an extraordinary combination of skills and is so well-suited to this work: he is a curious, empathetic, firm, and thoughtful coach. I feel very lucky to have worked with him this winter, and look forward to seeking his counsel in the years to come.
The coaching benefits have been real and valuable, and I would say they have so far impacted habits and mental patterns which are hard to precisely assess in terms of value..."

" Working with Tee has been an extremely valuable and insightful experience. He has asked questions I would not have considered on my own - which has helped me probe deeper into my mind, uncovering beliefs I would have not otherwise been aware of, and processing through them. Tee has offered practical systems and solutions, such as root-cause analysis and meta-thinking to assist me in solving problems.
Tee is very personable, with a knack for organically nudging conversation in the right directions. He has a unique ability to navigate thought-spaces to obtain precise insights - using them to formulate actionable solutions."

" Tee is one of the most emotionally wise people I've ever met. Just being around him makes you feel more calm and confident.
He has a way of cutting to the heart of an issue in a compassionate and empowering way.
He makes you want to be more productive while also feeling happy with how you are in the moment and not having to always be self-improving or doing better. He gives you this feeling of being enough and that things are OK.
He does an amazing job of skillfully using a wide array of psychological techniques without you even noticing them. And then he does the best part for an EA - he explains what he was doing so you can understand it - and yourself - better.
Tee is a fantastic coach. I highly recommend him if you want to be happier and more productive.

" Working with Tee has been very beneficial for several reasons. First, it allowed me to refocus my attention on high-level issues/considerations, which is helpful when developing a team strategy and goals.
Second, I learned some new transferrable skills (e.g., how to think more strategically, how to provide better arguments to support my ideas and/or convenience others about my approach to a problem/situation etc.).
Last but not least, exchanging ideas with Tee and hearing his perspective on different topics contributed to the generation of new, tangible ideas that I am hoping to utilize at my work.
In summary, working with Tee allowed me to gain a better and more holistic understanding of my strengths and limitations, which I believe will allow me to have a higher impact in my current role. Many thanks for the pieces of advice and sharing your thoughts with me! "

" Tee's an exceptional coach...I would strongly recommend Tee as a coach and hope that more folks will have the ability to work with Tee (regardless of financial means).
I'd consider Tee's coaching to be beneficial to all leaders in the EA community and outside of it.
Tee has been in a similar situation and can provide concrete, practical advice. I leave each session motivated to increase efficiency and grow our impact.

" Yes ✔️ I think Tee has a unique ability put people at ease, actively listen, and develop intelligent, nuanced feedback, even with little information. He knows how to ask the right questions, and to prompt his clients to think about things in ways they may not have before. This, combined with his experience of EA, puts him in a brilliant position to support others in the EA community. "

" Yes ✔️ EAs seem to be drawn to (and simultaneously troubled by!) uncertainty and self-doubt — like moths circling toward, and then bouncing off, burning light bulbs. Tee's mix of curiosity, empathy, and rigor makes him a well-suited thought partner to well-meaning nervous people trying to have an impact on the world... a category which I think includes many EAs."

" I think there is a lot of value in reducing people's insecurity about their place in EA, as I think feeling insecure can reduce a person's capacity to see things clearly and reason well. I also think there is value in improving communication between leaders at EA organisations and I think Tee's coaching helps people to identify ways they might be misinterpreting communication signals."

" Yes ✔️ I'd consider Tee's coaching to be beneficial to all leaders in the EA community and outside of it."
People and Culture Manager @ Rethink Priorities

" Yes ✔️ Generally speaking, I think that working with a knowledgeable coach - in this case Tee, can be a valuable experience to all leaders and individuals working in roles that may affect others (for example People Managers). From my point of view, this is because working with a coach allows for taking a step back and looking at various scenarios / issues from a different perspective and possibly more objectively.
I think that this is particularly important in the EA community, where making the world a better place is the top priority; for example, if someone mismanages others, then they could unintentionally cause more harm than good.
Lastly, I cautiously think that many individuals in the EA community who come from academia or research environments, are excellent thought leaders and great thinkers, but sometimes they may need additional support in strengthening other skills, including for example project or people management. While management skills may not be crucial when developing deep new concepts, they may be particularly important when leading an organization and, consequently, may be essential to the success of the entire EA community.
